Venerable Cornelia Connelly Shrine at The Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul

1723 Race St, Philadelphia, PA 19103

This small but highly artistic project was designed to honor the accomplishments of Sister Cornelia Connelly, the American-born foundress of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus, a Roman Catholic religious institute.

Working with our digital rendering, Rugo Stone created beautifully crafted full-scale clay model and a beautiful 3’ tall Bianco Carrara statue of the Holy Child Jesus. This statue is the centerpiece of the Venerable Cornelia Connelly Shrine located in the Basilica of St. Peter & Paul in downtown Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

This elegant Shrine features raised hand-carved floral details, a small coat of arms for the Society of the Holy Child Jesus, an elegant canopy with book matched Giallo Siena wall panels and accents of Bardiglio marble.
